LGBT+ Proms for young people of Scotland.
Following the American trend, Proms are becoming ever more popular within the UK. Unfortunately as a result of fear, discrimination and prejudice a large portion of LGBT+ young people do not attend their school proms or as they identify.
“Create meaningful experiences for LGBT+ young people that provide attendees with a safe, positive and educational environment, that promotes pride, inspiration and acceptance for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The organisation creates opportunities for emotional growth, inclusion and freedom of expression as well as raising the profile and increasing awareness of the LGBT+ community”
Pride Proms Project is the first of it's kind in the UK and our future goal is to host proms in targeted areas with the highest need in regards to LGBT+ population and levels of deprivation to raise awareness of the LGBT+ community.
WE DID IT AGAIN!
Creating Memorable Experiences for LGBTI+ Young People
We are excited to announce that we have secured funding for not 1 not 2 but 3 LGBT+ Youth Proms this year with thanks to The Weir Trust.
We are overwhelmed by this funding and it is has given us the opportunity to host LGBT+ Proms in harder to reach areas for our project.
Proms will now be hosted in Oban and Fife this year as well as kicking it all off in Glasgow on the 7th September 2019 at the Raddison Blu. Pride Promes Masquerade Youth Prom is supported by AXM Club (Glasgow) and they have an amazing Prize to be won by a luck youth that attends.
We are all excited about the news and cannot thank our supporters enough.
Tickets are available now.
